Once everyone's on board, you'll begin your Iceland sightseeing tour.
You'll be riding a super jeep that's complete with free Wi-Fi. An expert guide, who doubles as your driver, will accompany you throughout this small group tour.
Iceland's weather can be unpredictable, so wear warm outdoor clothing, a waterproof jacket and pants, and good hiking shoes. If you don't have waterproof clothes, you can rent them from your tour operator and notify them in advance.
You should also bring a bathing suit and a towel to experience the hot spring of Landmannalaugar.
From Reykjavik, you'll pass by the fertile farms of South Iceland and drive for about two hours before approaching the Hekla volcano from a distance.
Hekla is one of the most active volcanoes in the country and has erupted more than 20 times since the 1100s. It was known as the "Mountain of Hell" due to the tremendous amount of damage it has caused and the lives it has taken in the past. This volcano is constantly monitored to ensure your safety.
After marveling at the Hekla volcano, you'll drive to Landmannalaugar. On your way, you'll traverse streams, rivers, and rugged tracks. Fortunately, your super jeep is built for this, making for a thrilling journey.
The road climbs higher into the Highlands and Landmannalaugar to Sigoldufoss, a 33-foot (10-meter) waterfall on the Tungnaa River. It used to be fed by glacial water and ran grey. After the Sigalda Power Plant changed the river's path, the waterfall is now fed by spring water and runs a bright turquoise instead.
Landmannalaugar is known as the "People's Pool" and has always been a shelter for weary travelers. Thus, once you reach it, you'll pause for a refreshing dip at the hot springs.
Landmannalaugar is also known for its unique and colorful mountains, which are made of rhyolite rocks. This breathtaking image and phenomenon make it a fantastic place for geology enthusiasts.
After resting, you'll visit an explosion crater, Ljotipollur, located in the interior of Landmannalaugar, before going to the beautiful Thjorsardalur valley.
For your last stop, you'll visit the unique Hjalparfoss waterfall. The waterfall cascades separately and conjoins towards the bottom before joining a beautiful pond.
After a day of exploring the extraordinary nature of Iceland, you'll return to Reykjavik and officially end your guided tour.
Please note that the order of the itinerary stops may be adjusted depending on weather and road conditions.
